IBM Connections 3.0.1 Fixpack 1 Available
Fri, Mar 16th 2012 10:10a   Chris Whisonant
Looks like Connections 3.0.1.1 is finally hitting FixCentral! I'm hoping some oddities we've seen will be corrected. Timely enough, I'm just finishing up a 3.0.1 installation and am loading this fixpack now! The fixpack file (3.0.1.0-LC-Multi-IFLC3011_FP) is a 0.97 GB download. In order to actually install it, when you add it as a repository to the Installation Manager you have to add ".zip" to the end of the filename. Then it appears to know what to do and update properly. Recently, we've had some internal people receiving the following issue when downloading from Connections Files: Duplicate headers received from server The response from the server contained duplicate headers. This problem is generally the result of a misconfigured website or proxy. iOS5 Notification Center is old news
Thu, Oct 13th 2011 11:37a   Chris Whisonant
Is the new Notification Center one of the coolest enhancements for iOS5? No doubt! But is it some stellar Apple innovation? No. But not because many will say it's very similar to Droid Notifications. Rather, it's actually an innovation that comes out of the jailbreak community. You know, those people that Apple doesn't like. For around 5 months, I've been running Mobile Notifier beta 5 on my 3GS. Check out some of the screenshots there and you will see that it is the same as Not [read] Keywords: apple bleedyellow bleedyellow.com community iphone mobile

BleedYellow Now Ready for Native Mobile Apps
Fri, Aug 5th 2011 8:01a   Chris Whisonant
Late last week, IBM submitted apps to the app stores for iOS, Android, and BlackBerry. The Android app was approved extremely fast by Google ("within minutes" I have been told!), but we are still waiting to see approval for iOS and BlackBerry apparently. Part of the requirements for this was that administrators had to install the "July 2011 Mobile Hotfix" for the mobile component (did you know that you could already go to http://www.bleedyellow.com/mobile and have a good interaction before [read] Keywords: ibm sametime apple blackberry bleedyellow bleedyellow.com google interface mobile server

When you go to the "home page" for Connections Blogs (i.e. http://www.bleedyellow.com/blogs), there is a lot going on in the interface. We have tags on the left, recent Blogs postings in the center, and several items on the right side (featured, most recommended/voted/commented/visited). With Blogs, an admin account can use a web interface to modify certain settings, but none of these. Thanks to the information that Luis Benitez posted about how to add these buttons to the main header, I thought that I would make this just an opt-in task for Bloggers to implement if they cared to do so. In order to do this, you have to customize your blog theme. Under your blogs settings, go to Theme and if your theme isn't already listed as "Custom" then click the Customize button. Hat tip to Mitch Cohen for the link to this story. Though I highly doubt that it is related to Lotus Domino, it is still an area where users can have a lot of confusion. Sametime 8.5 Public Group Awareness
Wed, Mar 31st 2010 10:13p   Chris Whisonant
For a while weve been having some internal a href=http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21418890issues with Sametime Public Group awareness/a. (I hope that link works - the technote site appears to be down at the moment). We applied a hotfix that seemed to help some but progressively the issue would return. I actually a href=http://twitter.com/cwhisonant/status/11365991525tweeted earlier today/a asking if others have been having issues after applying the hotfix. If youre thinking of implementing DAOS, do this first...
Wed, Feb 10th 2010 4:52p   Chris Whisonant
Actually, you may want to consider running this on your servers this weekend if you havent already implemented DAOS. Get it out of the way... :)br /ibr /load compact mail -c -ZU/i - While youre at it, throw in thei -v -n/i switches too to enable body and design compression. How To Speed Up Your Domino Server And Reduce Corruption
Wed, Jan 13th 2010 4:36p   Chris Whisonant
This is definitely an age-old recommendation, but it is something that most customers have problems with. OS-level Antivirus. IBM has finally published a technote (1417504) a href=http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21417504Recommendations for exclusions when running Operation (sic) System Antivirus/a. This will definitely be handy to be able to show a customer direct instructions from IBM and not quot;justquot; recommendations from a third party (who sees this all the time). img [read] Keywords: domino ibm lotus notes application bleedyellow bleedyellow.com database desktop security server

Easy Way To Manage ACL or Advanced Properties For a Folder (SNTT)
Thu, Jan 7th 2010 12:02p   Chris Whisonant
One of the nice tricks with the Domino Administrator Client Files tab is the ability to update ACLs and properties for all databases in a folder and sub-folders. To do this, just right-click the folder and choose from the list of available options. ikeyman Not Allowing 2048 bit keysize
Mon, Jan 4th 2010 11:04a   Chris Whisonant
Earlier today I was renewing the SSL certificate for BleedYellows IHS server. But I ran into a slight issue in that the IBM SSL Key Management utility (ikeyman) was only giving me the choice of 512 or 1024 bit key length. But now, 2 years later (wow, time flies!), GoDaddy requires 2048 or 4096 bit requests and does not accept a 1024 bit request. This is good to know, for sure! After a quick use of my google-fu, I was able to find a href=http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21304144th [read] Keywords: ibm application google server websphere
