How do you upgrade a users local addressbook ? Ex. after an upgrade of the client.
Normaly it will upgrade it self, but sometimes it fails.
There are several ways to do this. Here is some comments about that.
One way is to run “compact -c” against the names.nsf.
This will update the ODS. You may also want to consider adding the following line to your users
notes.ini. This will ensure that any future new db are created with the new ODS:
Create_R85_Databases=1

Get data from DB2 via LotusScript
Thu, May 10th 2012 6:13a Thomas Lindberg I have recently made an Lotus Notes Database, where i needed to get some information from DB2.
I this case i also had the issue that only the server could connect to the DB2.
I made an agent that call another agent with the runOnServer method.
Then you can select a document, start a agent that calls a agent on a server, connect to db2, and update the selected document.
Here is an example on how to call db2 in a agent.

There has been a 3 week break, that has allowed a lot of the teams to update their cars.

It was 2 days full of Admin/Dev stuff. Ulrich Krause, Paul Withers and Dave Hay was guest speakers on the Admin/Dev track. A lot of good stuff was shown to us.
Guys from IBM was also there to tell about the future, and of course Social was also on the agenda.

Print in the background .. Part 2

There was some good proposals, but i couldn’t use any off them, because i have to use the Notes Form, and print that. But read my old blog entry, if you want some input on how to do it with pdf/iText.

Can you print a document in a background agent ?

I know all print functions is in the UI classes. But have anybody found a workaround. Thee i would like to know !

IdeaJam post. Server should be able to retrieve mail from another server

I want a server to be able to retrieve mail from another server, instead of it always are receiving.
But it seams that I am the only one that don’t want to do Ninja tricks to get the mail routing working when sending mail from outside the firewall.
My Idea was:

Mailfile preference. See message markings

I actually forgot about this setting, and maybe i’am not the only one, so here is a reminder
If you would like to have your emails marked in you Inbox by having dots (round circles) in front of them. Full blue dot means that the emails were sent to you, half blue/half white dot means it was sent to you and someone else at the same time and a white dot means that the email was sent to someone else [read] Keywords: notes

It’s a script Library I use almost every where i code something in Lotus Notes. Why do i use it all the time? Maybe you have heard of it before, so its not a thing that i have invented, and you can find it different places on the Internet.
It does the same as array, but its just a lot easier, because you don’t have to care about redim etc.

Print to special printer in background, without changing default printer
Wed, Feb 15th 2012 12:04a Thomas Lindberg Have you ever wanted to print to another printer than the default in Lotus Notes via LotusScript.
If you do that in windows, windows will remember that printer the next time you print in Lotus Notes.
This could be a problem if you have an Application that prints to a specific printer (ex. Labels).
But if you want to print ex. a mail shortly there after, you don’t want it to use that printer.

Every time I release a new buikd for production, i change the text in the agent befor I deploy. Som of my applications has 20 or so databases within it. Open your Settings app and tap on the Twitter tab. Log in, and press Update Contacts.
